Michigan Political Union

MPU is an organization that promotes wide discussion and discourse of contemporary political issues.

With passionate and interesting members, it’s also a hub of intellectual activity. We host events outside our traditional biweekly meetings as well as a guest lecture series where we invite professors to speak at our meetings. Even if you are uninformed about an issue, MPU meetings are a great way to learn about a breadth of subjects without having to take entire classes on them, and provide a platform to develop critical thinking and public speaking skills.

To me, MPU at its best is an exercise in ethical analysis. The resolutions force you to get to the crux of what you really believe in. If you believe in an enlightened citizenry, think of yourself as an activist or simply a thinker, MPU is right for you. You can come meetings as often or little as you'd like.

If you are a student and have any questions or are a professor and would like to speak at an event, feel free to e-mail me at erik.torenberg@gmail.com.

Here is our Website. You can also find us on facebook.
